With that under my belt I assessed my love affair with foods of the sweet variety. The more I exercised the less sugar I craved. I realised a body fueled by caramel frappes and chocolate was no longer an option if I want to make it through the C25K program.
I have been following Ashy Bines Bikini Body Challenge on facebook for a little while now. I am a sucker for a good success story, and her page has been filled with pictures with women of all shapes and sizes who have reclaimed their health and waistlines on the clean eating plan. In awe of the before & after shots, I purchased Ashy's Clean Eating Diet Plan
And before you could say 'Fit is the new skinny' I filled my fridge with essentials from the shopping list, printed recipes and planned how to break the news to the kids that party pies were no longer on the menu...

Little did I know just how much impact going clean would have me. I've been eating more healthily than I ever, but just three days after eliminating processed foods and sugar from my diet my skin has broken out eczema so badly it burns, I have been lethargic like never before and I am twitching like a crack addict.
After several decades of unhealthy habits, I am not surprised my body has gone into meltdown. As a Mum of three burnout is not an option and I have prescribed myself 'detox down time' to give my body a short time to re-adjust and get my metabolism back on track.
I am shattered (and feeling rather guilty) that I am deferring my C25K, even if only for a few days. I don't want to allow myself a chance to make excuses. I have a fantastic team of supporters who are there to keep me on track. I need to do it for myself and for them.
It is onward and upward from here. With each week that goes by, there are fist pump moments that I never thought I would celebrate. I am on my way to be a healthier, happier me one day without sugar at a time.
